Wow, I hear you saying – that sounds complicated! Well, it really isn’t. Today we’re going to talk about Web property Integration and what it is, along with why you should do it.
So What Is It?
Well, all it means is that all of the places on the internet where you have a presence are linked together. Where are these places? Well, it could be sites such as:

The list goes on! Anywhere where you have your own personal page or account, where you have content or interraction – that’s one of your web properties. You might only have one or two, or you might have all of the ones on this list and more. They’re out there, they belong to you, and you might as well make them work for you.
In simple terms, you need to link all of your web properties together. This means that anyone who lands on one of them can navigate easily to any of the others. Your website is the ideal place to start this series of connection, as you’re in control of the number and type of links that you can have. But what about the others? Most sites like Google+ and Facebook have places where you can add your links, and it’s easy to just type these in. You can also regularly add links to your other web properties in your news feeds, so that anyone scrolling down will have a variety of fresh links to click on.
This simple linking of sites is the first thing that you can do. It’s quick and easy and will let your web traffic move from site to site to see your content with relative ease.
More Advanced Integration
There are cleverer ways to do this and the best example is having various page feeds show up on your main website. Facebook and Twitter are ideal examples of this and you see websites with these feeds all of the time. It’s usually just a case of installing a simple widget and putting it in the right places, inputting your account details and voila – the feed should appear as if by magic. This is a good idea because it means that visitors can see more of your stuff in one place, as opposed to having to move around the web to see everything that you offer. All this linking does have benefits for SEO too. Many social media sites have been shown to have a positive effect on rankings when linked to the appropriate money site. There’s an awful lot that you can do all by yourself though. Try to post something interesting, fun or informative on each of your web properties every day. This will encourage the natural expansion of your social media empire, and if your product, deal or service is good, it might be all that you need to do.
Overall Visibility Through Brand
When your web properties are named correctly in the name of either yourself or your business, together they grow to be more than a sum of their parts. If your company is called “Silverwood Industries” and all of your web property accounts are names as this, when anyone Googles your company name the entire first page of results is going to be filled with web properties that bear your name. This is because many of these sites are very high authority, so will naturally rank highly in any Google search. Google your own name now – I bet a Facebook page is in the top three results.
The upshot of all this is that you become very easy to find via a variety of channels. If these channels are all linked it doesn’t matter which one the searcher clicks on – they will still be able to navigate between all of your web properties once they have left the Google results page.
The end result is that you are easy to find in the first place via SERPS. It’s then easy to navigate to all of your other web pages to find all of the relevant information that they may be looking for (if it’s not ALL contained on your main website).
This means that more people are going to find you. If you are a business or service this means that ultimately more people are going to buy from you.
